Consul General of Belarus R.Varankou meets the Chairman of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Ho Chi Minh City

On August 13, 2024, the Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr Ruslan Varankou, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, Mr Do Viet Ha. The event was also attended by the Deputy Chairman – Secretary General of the Union, Mr Ho Xuan Lam.
During the friendly conversation, the sides exchanged views on promising areas of bilateral cooperation.
Mr Varankou detailed the activities of the Belarusian side for the near and medium term, noting the highly promising the cooperation between friendship organisations.
Mr Do Viet Ha informed about the activities of the Union and confirmed his readiness to promote the development of Belarusian-Vietnamese relations.
The parties also discussed in detail the possibility of organising joint events in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, including in the context of the upcoming Friendship Dialogue 2024 forum in Ho Chi Minh City this September.
The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations is a specialized association operating in the field of international relations. It coordinates foreign non-governmental organisations and individuals in Ho Chi Minh City in order to promote socio-economic development, implement humanitarian and charitable programs, improve mutual understanding, and develop peaceful, friendly and mutually beneficial international relations. The Union gathers 31 friendship associations and four public clubs. It is a member of the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.
