On September 23, 2024, the grand opening of the first Days of Minsk and the Belarus-Vietnam Business Forum took place in Ho Chi Minh City. The Belarusian delegation was headed by the First Deputy Chairperson of the Minsk City Executive Committee Mrs Nadzeya Lazarevich, the Vietnamese side was represented by the Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Mr Vo Van Hoan.
The Days of Minsk and the Belarus-Vietnam Business Forum brought together about two hundred participants, including the leadership of Minsk and Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of local business circles and business associations. The event provided a platform for direct dialogue and a full-scale exchange of views on cooperation between the two sister cities in trade, economic, investment and cultural spheres. Business representatives of the two countries used the forum to present their products and services.
The agenda of the events was supplemented by the first of its kind forum for graduates of Belarusian higher education institutions organised by the Consulate General of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City.
The cultural program was presented by the photo exhibition Sovereign Belarus, opened by Consul General Mr Ruslan Varankou. The exhibition became a visual excursion for the participants of the events into the achievements of sovereign Belarus in the political, social, cultural and economic spheres.
A bright addition to the cultural program was the performance of the Belarusian folklore ensemble Verbitsa, traditional Belarusian treats and dishes of national cuisine, as well as drinks. One of the central elements that found a deep response in the hearts of the Vietnamese friends of Belarus was the legendary motorcycle Minsk, which took its place of honour at the forum.
