Consul General Ruslan Varankou meets the Deputy Director of the Vietnam Waste Recycling Association

On July 10, 2024, the Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City, Ruslan Varankou, held a meeting with the Deputy Director of the Vietnam Waste Recycling Association, Deputy Director of the state company CITENCO, Tran Van Quan.
Background information. The Vietnam Waste Recycling Association is a voluntary specialized public association of citizens and organisations of Vietnam operating in the field of processing various types of waste. CITENCO is the largest state-owned utility company in Ho Chi Minh City. Its main activities are focused on providing services in the field of public hygiene and ecology, including a full cycle of waste-treatment activities such as collection, transportation and processing of all types of waste.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on promising areas of bilateral cooperation for the implementation of the Ho Chi Minh City authorities approaches regarding transition to “green” economy.
In this context, the Consulate General presented in detail the potential of Belarusian companies offering solutions in the field of sorting and processing of household, municipal, agricultural and industrial waste. The leadership of the Association highly appreciated the potential of Belarusian innovations.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue interaction at the expert level, including establishing direct contacts with Belarusian stakeholder enterprises, in order to develop approaches for the implementation of Belarusian solutions in Ho Chi Minh City.
